Every municipality in Prescott-Russell and the rest of Ontario received some welcome news from the province as they begin their 2020 budget planning. The Ford Progressive Conservative govern- ment announced early approval of next year’s Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund grants (OMPF). The funding formula for the 2020 OMPF grants will remain the same as for the 2019 grants. So, all municipalities will receive the same amount of money from the fund next year as they did this year, with the figures based on household population total estimates for the past year and other factors. The City of Clarence-Rockland’s OMPF allocation for 2020 will be $615,300 while
Russell Township will receive $180,800. The United Counties of Prescott-Russell (UCPR) will not receive OMPF funding, accord- ing to the provincial government’s information announcement.
