Director dialogue

FACTS & FIGURES A total of 230 students graduated from ++/ TirWchirappalli’s flagship 2)2//$#

What has AMBA accreditation and membership of the AMBA network meant for your school? “IIM Tiruchirappalli’s reputation for quality is reflected in the admission rates to its MBA programmes – less than one per cent of applicants are admitted. However, our achievements and aspirations have, to date, been limited to the geography in which we operate. AMBA accreditation has provided wings to our ambitions and driven us to strive for meeting global benchmarks in academic excellence. “From a modest number pre-accreditation, our overseas partner network for student and faculty exchange has grown by leaps and bounds. AMBA accreditation has played a role in enhancing our reputation domestically among recruiters and corporate partners. We hope to leverage this in the form of better career opportunities for students and a greater inflow of executive development programmes.” Can you describe your business school’s unique selling point (USP) to other members of the AMBA network? “IIM Tiruchirappalli has made rapid strides in contributing to institution building at provincial and national levels. Recent key contributions include preparing the 15-year District Development Plan for the Tiruchirappalli District in Tamil Nadu in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry, as well as conducting entrepreneurship development programmes for entrepreneurs from scheduled caste and scheduled tribe communities in collaboration with the National Institute of the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises. “The fact that IIM Tiruchirappalli, with just over a decade- old history, has won the trust of several stakeholders and has become one of the preferred knowledge partners for the industry and the government stands testimony to the institution’s growing stature as a value creator for businesses and a partner in nation building.” Pawan Kumar Singh, director, Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli
