For Those Who Have Topics I. CHRISTIANS MUST NOT LOOK BACK. Satan will suggest a visit to the old country of sin. Old friends will try to make one homesick. Chris tians must not yield but rather re sist the devil, and his cohorts (Jas. 4:7). II. CHRISTIANS MUST LOOK UNTO JESUS. This is best done as time is given to prayer. And soon the joy of re ceiving answers to prayer’ will be ex perienced (Psa. 37:4). TTT. CHRISTIANS MUST READ THE BIBLE. God’s Word tells us about the-heav enly laws which are so different from the devil’s rules. Until believers have read the Bible through at least once, they are not worthy to be called informed citizens of the heavenly country. IV. CHRISTIANS MUST PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE IN PUBLIC. The more Christians know of' their Leader, the more courageous they be come to stand up' for Him. Are ypu able to say with Paul the wonderful words found in Romans 1:16? V. CHRISTIANS MUST WAR AGAINST SATAN. , The whole armor of God must be appropriated. The sword of the Spirit (Eph. 6:17) is used by memorizing Scripture which will bring men to God. Hardness must be endured as good soldiers of Jesus Christ (2 Tim. 2:3). As this is done, the Christian prepares himself to obey the Lord’s last command, given to His follow ers, “ Go ye therefore, and teach all nations” (Matt. 28:19). APRIL 23, 1944 EXTENDING THE HELPING HAND 1 J ohn 3:17, 18; J ames 1:22-27 By Zada E. Stevens The hands of the Lord Jesus Christ are the most helpful hands that the world ever has known. We can read scarcely a page of the New Testa ment. without learning of His kind acts and o f His thoughtfulness—of blind eyes given Sight, of crippled limbs given strength — principally through the contact of His wonderful hands. We who have been given as surance of heaven through belief in His sacrifice, find that we may de rive our greatest joy through helping others. When we lonsider the way in which most of our kindnesses are conveyed to others, we realize that it is through our hands, these hands which He has lent to us.

Write, phone, or call MUtual 3820 RELIGIOUS BOOK SHOP After a start has been "made in the Christian life, young people are often surprised to find that there is much to be learned. Because it is not «asy to form new habits, and to do things in new ways, converts sometimes be come discouraged. The change from the “old man” to the new man “in Christ” is something like the experi ence of a refugee ,from totalitarian' Europe, who wants to become a citi zen of this country. It is all very well for the refugee to promise to obey the laws of the United States, but he must also study our Constitu tion, and try to live in harmorfy with American customs. If he perseveres, this former European will become a loyal and enthusiastic citizen. Let us apply this principle to “Learning to Live as Christians.” T he J ohn B rown S chools ¿tmouna. the appointment o f THE REVEREND WILLIAM EVANS, D .D ., Ph .D ., Litt.D. — world-known Bible expositor and. teacher— as Executive Vice President and Director of all Bible teaching in radio and Bible conferences of the John Brown Schools. ★ ★ ★ ★ The Brown Schools with no Government contracts — are filled.
