shaken may remain” (Heb. 12:27). One of the things that cannot be shaken is the Great Commission to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature:, and it is heartening to know that this shaking of the world is shaking open new doors into the mission field. While our country has been gath-1 ering its manhood into great mobili zation camps, a Gideon’s band has also been mobilized each summer at Camp Wycliffe for trairiihg recruits to the mission field in the mastery of unwritten language in new foreign fields. This coming summer of 1944, Camp Wycliffe, which is also known as the Summer Institute of Linguis tics, will convene as last year at Ba- cone College, Muskogee, Oklahoma, for eleven weeks of intensive language training in phonetics, phonemics, and the morphology and syntax of un written tongues, with the promise of the largest attendance in its history. shall put off their strength as a gar ment, and put on His strength. Our strength is weakness; His strength is almightiness. “To them that have no might he increaseth strength.” “When I am weak, then.am I strong.” “My strength is made perfect in weakness” . . . If the load pulls hard, change the fountain of supply from weakness to God’s strength. Here we shall find the secret and a solution for our prob lems.—Selected. 18. The Necessary Pruning “And every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit” (John 15:2). The vine may wonder why the prun ing knife so cruelly removes its seem ingly finest branches, but it will un derstand when golden, ripened fruit hangs heavily upon its boughs at harvest time. And so will that troubled heart un derstand when at last it stands com plete in Him—in His likeness, because in Hi£ wisdom it has been molded and refined, and has become beauti ful. The refining is not pleasant, but the “ afterward” is- glorious. Oh, to lose one’s life for Him, whatever the cost! The trials of life will seem nothing when we look on His wonder ful face.—Grace and Truth. Suddenly he said, “Mother, I want to give my lily to Mrs. Ray. I think it would help her to feel Easter in her heart, don’t y.ou?” With a smile, his mother answered, “Yes, dear, I think it would be fine for you to do that.” Harold took his lily in his wagon over to Mrs. Ray.. She exclaimed with delight at the beautiful plant, and they took it into the house and set it on a table in the living room. Harold told her how the lily showed us the story of resurrection, as his mother had explained it to him. Then she took his little hand and said, “Harold, I want to tell you something wonderful. You’re the very first one besides my husband to know about it. Mr. Ray and I have both accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour, and tomorrow when we go to church, we want to confess Him there, with God’s people. -It will be a true Easter Day for us—no more sadness or crying—a real resurrection day.” FORWARD WITH THE GOSPEL The world today is being shaken to its foundations as a sign to those who live on the Word of God o f ' “ the .re moving of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be THE CRYING LADY [ Continued from Page 94]
