LEADERSHIP
T here is no question that companies today should comply with the demands of the world’s rapidly changing value systems. Such values are majorly influenced by the growing power of non-organic intelligence (NOI), the integration of artificial algorithms into the human body and genetic editing. Nevertheless, we believe that management consultant Peter Drucker’s wisdom still holds true and that organisations should “enable ordinary human beings to do extraordinary things”. This view is utterly crucial given that the world is going through a significant reconfiguration with tension, instability and huge unpredictability, meaning that organisations desperately need to reinvent themselves. When we think about how to achieve this, three major questions come to mind: What is wrong with the organisations we have now and are they really obsolete in this new world-in-the-making? What would a reinvented organisation look like? And, even more essentially perhaps, how can we remodel the concept of leadership?
