sponsorships and philanthropic giving. However, once open, the complex will be sustainable through income generated frommemberships, entrance fees, renting rooms, birthday parties, an on site café and lending library. The charity continues to provide families with its remote support and Pop Up events until it can secure funding for its permanent home.

The charity, established in 2017, saw over 8,000 visitors for its Pop Up events over 58 days, and has plans to build the UK’s first fully inclusive leisure facility. There are 66,000 young people with disabilities (aged 0-25) within an hour of Bristol, and over 1.1million in the UK. 77%of them cannot access regular leisure facilities, so can’t play, exercise or socialise in the same ways as their peers.Whole families are isolated, with 72%of parents suffering mental health problems as a result. Gympanzees developed an innovative solution with its Pop Up events, which include specialist gyms, soft play, active and calm sensory andmusic rooms, trampolines, therapy and exercise suites. Families have come from far andwide, with somemaking a five-hour round trip for their hour-and-a-half session. The feedback received has been extraordinary: a five-year-oldwho slept through the night for the first time after her session, and a nine-year-oldwho held

These Pop Up events support Gympanzees’main goal – to build the UK’s first dedicated play, exercise and social inclusion destination for families that’s open seven days a week, 364 days a year. The centre will be fully inclusive, meaning that it will be open for the wider public. However, instead of disability being the add-on, disability is the core of the plans. Gympanzees work is heavily subsidised through fundraising tomake it affordable for families. Themain centre will be funded through grants,
