Receiving this award is especially rewarding’ as it comes after a tough year for the company’s staff and communities, who have been working tirelessly together to combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. ACH is a social enterprise providing a range of innovative support and integration services for refugee andmigrant individuals. Since 2008, the company is resettling over 2,500 individuals a year by providing secure housing, culturally sensitive support, and vocational training (provided by its training arm - Himilo). They deliver services in Bristol, Birmingham,
Wolverhampton, and Coventry whilst offering advice and assistance across the UK and beyond. ACH works hard to open opportunities for refugees and newly arrived communities to forge meaningful, sustainable, and happy lives in the UK. Their mission to promote opportunity is demonstrated through their innovative programmes. From, ‘BOB-UK’, an automated AI technology, providing crucial employment advice to people who need it, quickly, easily, and for free. To ensuring communities can benefit from city plans to tackle climate change and access green jobs. Their latest and largest project will see 500 migrant entrepreneurs reinforce the launch, stabilisation, and growth of their businesses through personalised business support. Whilst their digital training course has already provided 200 individuals with a free tablet and the opportunity to navigate the digital world. Opportunity is a human right and ACH will continue to ensure refugee & migrant communities have the tools to fulfil their aspirations.
