to see or hold our baby, my husband and I cried and prayed while the nurses did everything they could. In a room filled with people, I heard only one voice, Kenzie’s, as she comforted me and gave me hope.” Thankfully, the baby recovered fully and is doing great. The patient says she thinks of Kenzie and the amazing support she provided every day. She adds, “Kenzie’s bedside manner, knowledge and kindness all point to her calling as a labor and delivery nurse. Hanson, BSN, RN, a member of the Labor and Delivery team at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center, took the next step, nominating Kenzie for a DAISY Award for compassionate care. The patient recalled, “Into the morning hours things were going well, as nurse Kenzie coached and encouraged me. But things took a turn for the worse when I delivered my son after an hour of pushing. The sounds of cheering in the delivery room gave way to silence as he struggled. For 16 long minutes, unable
