Literature/Mass Mailing Requirements It is also important that you familiarize yourself thoroughly with Chapter 7 of this handbook relative to campaign finance disclosure requirements to ensure that you understand your campaign filing requirements and meet filing deadlines. The polls will be open on Election Day, April 15, 2025, from 7a.m. to 8 p.m. A Vote Center will be open at the Civic Center (City Hall) beginning April 5, 2025, and a Vote Center will be open at University Park Community Center on April 12, 2025. Hours for each Vote Center vary, but will be open on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Election returns will be canvassed and compiled at the Orange County Registrar of Voters (ROV) commencing the evening of November 5. Live election results can be obtained by calling 714-567-7600 or online at ocvote.org. The ROV offers a precinct mapping system as part of their LIVE website which allows users to click into any of the precincts throughout Orange County to access live returns for each individual contest. The ROV has 30 days to complete the canvass and certify the election. By April 27, 2025, the City Council will officially certify the Election results for the office of Councilmember for Council District 5. The newly elected Councilmember will then be administered the Oath of Office, provided a Certificate of Election, and will take their seats at the City Council dais.
