CHAPTER 4 Conflict of Interest Information Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700)
Each candidate is required to complete a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700). A Form 700 is included with the forms under separate cover with this packet. The original statement is forwarded to the Fair Political Practices Commission by the Elections Official (City Clerk), and a copy of the statement remains on file in the office of the City Clerk. Statements are also posted to the City’s website. A Form 700 must also be filed by successful candidates prior to assuming office. See your nomination packet for Form 700. The Form 700 – Reference Pamphlet can be found in Appendix B. These statements are available online and in the City Clerk’s office for public review. You must report investment, interests in real property, and business positions held on the date of filing your declaration of candidacy. In addition, you must disclose income, including loans, gifts, honoraria and travel payments, received during the 12 months prior to the date of filing your declaration of candidacy. Please Note: Form 700 must be filed at the same time as nomination papers.
