Overview
• Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi believes that its most important asset is its human resources. The role of the Management is to establish policies and procedures designed to improve the quality of work life in the Hotel. The aim is to address and sufficiently provide for the needs of the colleagues while at the same time, establish the standard of discipline and professionalism required by colleagues in achieving service excellence. • The rules and regulations contained in this Guide are geared towards the achievement of these objectives. The Guide provides a mechanism through which expected norms of conduct are clearly defined to ensure consistency, objectivity and efficiency in managing the Hotel. Further, the Guide serves as a communication tool designed to instil discipline, harmony and fairness in handling colleagues.
Objective
• We have invested in our colleagues and we must treat people as capital assets, we must ensure that colleagues are given possible guidance and opportunity to improve prior to termination.
Scope
• Shall apply to all colleagues within the hotel and in the colleague accommodation.
What is Corrective Behaviour & Disciplinary Action?
• When a company takes action against any colleague for violating a rule within the organization. • The “action” taken is identified within a company’s policy. • These “actions” are considered as Counselling Sessions, Verbal Warnings, Written Warnings, Suspensions and Termination.
What is Corrective Behaviour?
• When any colleague violates the policy, the focus is on improvement not punishment or termination.
