SPINK are delighted to share with you The Crown Coin , a truly unique objet d’art created to honour the remarkable reign of Queen Elizabeth II. Meticulously crafted by the skilled artisans of The East India Company, this extraordinary piece brings together the expertise of the world’s finest designers, artists, mould makers, engravers, and gem cutters. It stands as a rare and unparalleled tribute to Her Majesty. The Crown, forged from fine gold and adorned with GIA-certified diamonds, dazzles with a mesmerising display of brilliance. Comprising 6,426 diamonds, each individually set against a golden backdrop, the piece features gemstones formed over two billion years ago, collectively weighing an extraordinary 483 carats. The Crown measures an impressive 235 mm (9.25 inches) in diameter and 30 mm (1.1 inches) in depth. Its structure is composed of 3.6 kilograms of white and yellow gold. At its heart lies a one-kilogram centrepiece coin, struck in pure 24-karat gold, surrounded by ten one-ounce gold coins intricately embedded within a shimmering filigree of diamonds.

At the heart of The Crown lies a 100-milimetre diameter, one-kilogram 24-karat gold coin, serving as both its centrepiece and a £10,000 legal tender. This remarkable coin features Her Late Majesty’s Royal Cypher surrounded by the four founding principles of the Commonwealth of Nations: Loyalty , Freedom , Friendship , and Peace . Loyalty and Friendship are represented by an allegorical figure of a lady holding a crowned knot shaped like a heart. At her feet lie a rope and anchor, symbolising connection. A ribbon frames the design, inscribed with the Latin words ‘ Amicitia ’ (Friendship) and ‘ Fides ’ (Faith). Freedom and Peace are depicted by another allegorical figure, accompanied by a dove in flight and an olive tree at her feet. A ribbon encircles the design with the words ‘ Libertas ’ (Freedom) and ‘ Pacis ’ (Peace).
Together, they surround the Royal Cypher, set against a radiant background of sunbeams.

This one-of-a-kind creation is both a technical and artistic masterpiece.
Taking 16 months to complete, the project has truly become truly irreplaceable following the Queen’s passing in September. It is now legally impossible to reproduce, as each coin features Her Late Majesty’s effigy and is classified as Legal Tender-an element that can no longer be minted. As a result, The Crown has become a highly sought-after collector’s piece. Her Majesty’s enduring legacy will be cherised worldwide for generations, and we believe this extraordinary piece, aptly named The Crown, will stand as a timeless tribute to her life and reign.
