King's Business - 1958-05

in the history of the Hebrew people, a summary of the fantastic theory that the great Pyramid of Gizeh con tains prophetic teachings, and con cludes with a chapter on Egypt in the prophetic and missionary litera ture of the 19th century. The book appeared at the close of last year simultaneous with a four- week series of TV sermons on the same subject which Smith conducted in Los Angeles. Smith, Professor of English Bible at Fuller Theological Seminary, ably sketches the past, present and future role of Egypt as its people vigorously act out their self-appointed part •— according to the counsels of God, though they know it not — on the trembling stage of world history. 256 pages; cloth; W. A. Wilde Co., Bos ton; $3.50. — Reviewed by Norman B. Rohrer. Three aspects of the subject are de veloped by our author in this manual written for use in the Canadian Bible Institute, Regina, Saskatche wan: “ Preparation for Soul-win ning,” “Participation in Soul-win ning,” and “ Presentation of the Faith vs. Cults.” The format is designed to provide the utmost in usefulness by arranging the material in short sec tions almost in outline form, with Scripture references listed in the left margin in addition to those referred to in the text itself. Thus this becomes a thoroughly biblical development, with the exception of the last chapter where there are not too many refer ences. Questions for examination and a grading system are provided at the end of each chapter and there is a short summary of each chapter which makes the book ideally adaptable to study. 176 pages; cloth; Baker Book House, Grand Rapids; $3.50. From long experience in directing evangelistic work among the Jews combined with a thorough knowledge of the Bible itself and Jewish Rab binical literature, the author brings together here the main body of pro phetic literature on a most fascinat ing and profitable subject. Most of the material here presented has ap peared in the magazine, Hebrew Christian. A chronological table, glos sary, bibliography and index add to the value of the book as a handbook for Bible students and workers with Jews. 155 pages; cloth; Zondervan Publ. House, Grand Rapids; $2.95. The Art of Soul-winning By M . W . Downey Messianic Prophecy in the Old Testament By Aaron 7. Kligermann
