child: I know not how to go out or come in.” Again he said, “Give there fore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?” (1 Kings 3:9). The Lord answered Solomon’s pray er, for we read in 1 Kings 3:12 “Be hold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.” As I unfold this paper, you will notice that the letter “ s” which re minds us of Solomon, is getting larger. In 2 Chronicles 9:22,23 we read, “And king Solomon passed all the kings of the earth in riches and wis dom. And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, that God had put in his heart.”

The wise men asked questions until they learned that Christ was to be bom in Bethlehem. They were very happy when they again saw the star on the Bethlehem road. The last large “ s” reminds us of what the queen of Sheba said: “How- beit I believed not their words until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the one half of the great ness of thy wisdom was not told me: for thou exceedest the fame that I heard” (2 Chron. 9:6). Solomon start ed out small but he increased because God blessed him as He had promised He would.
