A Good Samaritan

It was such a wonderful and feel-good story, we just had to share it! If you were in the Jewel that morning and helped someone out by paying their $146 dollar bill, you touched so many of us with your kindness. Jewel in Homer Glen also donated a small shopping cart to Victorian Village that will assist our residents in getting their groceries out of our car and into their apartments. Thanks to Wally, our bus driver, for talking with Craig, the store manager at Jewel, and for making this happen. Thank you to Craig Fisk, manager at Jewel, for his generosity.

Last month, something incredible happened for one of our lovely residents in the Grand when

they encountered a Good Samaritan. In the Bible, the parable of the good

Samaritan can be found in Luke 10:25-37. But here is our recent Good Samaritan experience in Homer Glen: On April 9, 2024, the Victorian Village shoppers headed to Jewel in Homer Glen to do some weekly shopping like they normally do. On this trip, one of the residents was having trouble with her credit card. A resident on the bus offered to help and let her use their credit card, but by the time they went into the store to help, a good Samaritan had already paid the bill for our resident. Furthermore, she would NOT give us her name or her number so that she could be re-paid.
