Beyond established spaces and organisations, this report has also highlighted the need for Black-run spaces and events, diverse mentors and role models, and strong networks of diverse artists. These exist in places like London and Manchester and enrich and add value to the cultural scenes. In Wales, they have traditionally been seen as alien, been eroded or considered of niche interest only. It is time that Wales reconsiders and embraces local diverse culture, heritage and creativity, not as a threat or in opposition to Welsh culture, but as a longstanding and rich part of it. Celebrating the potential of diverse communities and creatives can only bring more depth and richness to the Welsh cultural scene, for the benefit of all.
