Give Your Siding a Spring Scrub! 3 TIPS FOR WASHING HOME’S OUTSIDE WALLS

You might not have noticed it, but winter conditions or general wear and tear have built up on your home’s siding. From layers of dirt to clumps of pollen, dirty siding not only ruins your home’s curb appeal, but it can also ruin your home.

So, as the weather begins to warm and you have more time in your days, give that siding a good wash with the following tips in mind. LEAVE THE POWERWASHER IN THE GARAGE. A common way for people to clean the siding on their house is to take out the old pressure washer and blast that dirt away. However, experts recommend against this method because, depending on the angle of the spray, water can get behind the siding and cause damage to your home. Not only that, but high water pressure can damage the siding if you’re not careful. GRAB THAT SOFT-BRISTLED BRUSH! Instead of a high-powered blast-off, the best way to wash your siding is with a garden hose and soft brush. Many home improvement stores sell siding cleaning

solutions in spray bottles that attach directly to your hose.

PRE-SPRAY AND SPRAY OFTEN. Before cleaning a section, spray it with water to allow dirt or debris to soften and release its hold on your home. Start with small areas at the bottom of the wall. Gently scrub away dirt with solution and a brush. As you clean from the bottom to the top, re-spray each section beneath it because soapy water from the siding above will trail down and may leave a residue. Be sure to thoroughly rinse the wall to avoid streaking. And finally, enjoy your clean house! By scrubbing your siding just once a year, you can increase its longevity and your home’s curb appeal!

WHY IT’S IMPORTANT TO SEE YOUR DOCTOR REGULARLY Take Charge of Your Health

COMPLIANCE After visiting a doctor for a checkup, following a vehicle accident, or to treat a condition, follow through with the treatment plan you and your doctor decide on. If your doctor requests that you take a medication and wants to schedule a follow-up visit in three weeks, be sure you cooperate. If they recommend physical therapy or a specialist, it’s imperative that you follow their advice — your health and sometimes your case can depend on it! HONESTY When seeing your doctor, be honest about what’s going on. Keep in mind that the information you share is confidential and your doctor has seen it all; there’s nothing to ever be embarrassed about or ashamed of. Certain health conditions may be uncomfortable to discuss, but when it comes to safeguarding your health, honesty is the best policy!

It’s important that you take charge of your medical care and follow the treatment plan your doctor lays out for you, especially when it comes to your legal or personal injury case. In many personal injury or workers’ compensation cases, doctors are called upon as medical witnesses to prove or disprove certain aspects of the case. Whether or not you have an active case right now, I call on you to prioritize your health and make sure you put your medical care first. RESEARCH One of the greatest relationships you will lean on in life is the one you have with your doctor. Before you visit a new doctor, it’s important to research their background, qualifications, and practice areas. Then, before your first visit, compile a list of questions you have for the doctor to ensure you arrive prepared to build a relationship and treatment plan.
