LGBTQIA+ History Month

Neurodiversity Celebration Week is a worldwide initiative that challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences. I t aims to transform how neurodivergent individuals are perceived and supported by providing schools, universities, and organisations with the opportunity to recognise the many talents and advantages of being neurodivergent. The week also aims to create inclusive and equitable cultures that celebrate differences and empower every individual. We ran a lunch & learn session with Daniel Aherne from Adjust Services. This virtual one-hour session gave an introductory understanding of neurodiversity. More events will be held in the future and we encourage participation in these valuable sessions. Race Equality Week: podcast

LGBTQIA+ History Month is an annual event organised by the UK charity, Schools OUT.

Race Equality Week took place on 7 to 13 February. It is an annual UK- wide movement uniting thousands of organisations and individuals to address the barriers to race equality in the UK. T he theme for this year was #actionnotjustwords. To commemorate this week, the CR&I team, alongside members of the ACED network, created a podcast hosted by ACED co-chair Rosehana Amin with a diverse panel speaking about their views on race equality, their own lived experiences and how we can all take action to make a difference in the workplace.

I t recognises the current struggles faced by the LGBTQIA+ community as well as events throughout history that have shaped society today, like the Stonewall Riots. To celebrate the month, we ran a webinar hosted by Laila El-Metoui, Founder and CEO of Pride in Education and Educating out Racism. Laila shared the history of LGBTQIA+ rights in the UK, as well as how colleagues can support each other on topics affecting the LGBTQIA+ community.

Coming soon... In June we will be marking Pride month across the firm. Pride Month is a time to celebrate the progress made in achieving equality for LGBTQIA+ people around the world and the influences of the LGBTQIA+ community. It’s also a time to reflect on what more needs to be done for LGBTQIA+ rights. Keep an eye out for further information and details on how you can get involved.

You can catch up on the webinar here: Pryde & Co: In Conversation with Laila El-Metou...
