Supporting the humanitarian relief effort in Ukraine
The war in Ukraine continues with an unimaginable level of human suffering for those in the country and those that have sought refuge elsewhere.
T he human suffering that comes from war is heart-breaking and we must think first and foremost about a number of our colleagues who come from Ukraine, some of whom have family in the country. As a firm we have been supporting the humanitarian crisis in the country by way of financial support and by offering pro bono help. Over recent weeks we have been raising money to support both the United Nationals Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR). Through a firmwide donation, donations from our people and match funding we have collectively donated £50,000.
Many of us have also been supporting in other ways, including working with charities such as Refugees At Home, providing pro bono advice and offering translation services for those with immigration queries. We are also assisting one of our existing pro bono partners, Safe Passage, to provide a report on the current gaps in legal and advocacy support for refugees fleeing Ukraine with a view to identifying what more we can do to help.
Thank you to everyone who has already contributed to this impressive amount. If you would still like to donate to the appeal you can do so here:
