Essential Criteria Experience:

• Experience of practical working knowledge of heritage buildings and skills e.g. building conservation, restoration, glazing etc and listed building planning application. • Experience of strategic estate management planning including budgeting and resourcing considerations • Experience of direct management of estate portfolios / programmes and projects, acting in the role of programme / project manager. Developing and managing programmes/projects on all aspects of the programme and project lifecycle working within budgets and determining what actions are required to achieve the best outcomes. • Strong experience in property and facilities management disciplines including demonstration of compliance with statutory and regulatory commitments. • Experience in writing clear and concise documents with particular emphasis on report writing and production tailored for different stakeholders. communications managing a range of stakeholders both within and external to line management chains. Adept in people management including mentoring, motivating, and developing staff. Desirable Criteria: • Strong commercial experience gained within a property, facilities management, or similar complex function. • Knowledge of building regulations • Professional membership of a property related body, H&S and programme management such as: • Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) accredited Degree OR similar qualification. • Association of Project Management (APM) qualification OR similar qualification • PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification OR similar qualification • National Examination Board Occupational Safety Health (NEBOSH) OR similar qualification • Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) OR similar qualification • Chartered of Fellow membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS/FRICS) • MCIOB, FCIOB • Knowledge of landlord and tenant property management, including property development. • Knowledge of funding sources and grant writing to maximise funding opportunities. Working hours: Full time (flexible working hours, including the requirement to work outside of normal office hours including weekends as the Cathedral is a seven-day operation) Other: The post will be subject to two satisfactory references and will require an enhanced DBS check. The post offers a salary of c£65,000 with additional benefits including: • 6.6 weeks annual leave per annum • Pension Builder 2014 scheme (employee contribution of 2.4%, employer contribution of 6.4% for those aged under 43 years and 10% for those aged 43 or over) • 10% discount in the Café and Shop.
