Day 1 Travel to the hotel near Winchester. Day 2 A full day at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and all of its attractions, including a cruise around Portsmouth Harbour and admission to the Mary Rose Experience. Journey through time aboard the historic ships and understand the Royal Navy, past, present and future. Day 3 Journey to the beautiful South Downs, characterised by rolling chalk downs, deep dry valleys and steep slopes with wide views over
the wooded farmland of the Sussex Weald and glimpses of the shimmering sea. A guide will lead you through the most scenic areas. Day 4 First stop today is the Weald and Downland Museum, location of the ‘The Repair Shop’. A hidden gem conserving the past for the future, you will see what life was really like for people living in years gone by. Not to be missed is a ride on the narrow-gauge steam railway. This afternoon is to the romantic Highclie Castle. Learn the fascinating story of how this once lavish home was destroyed, left to ruin, and brought back to life. Day 3 Spend today at leisure relaxing in the hotel and visiting the popular seaside town of
Bournemouth. Take time to enjoy the 7 miles of splendid golden beaches or browse in the wide variety of shops in the town centre. For the more active, why not enjoy a pier to pier walk starting at Boscombe Pier and wandering along the promenade to Bournemouth Pier? Day 4 Travel to Poole Harbour this morning for a boat trip along the splendid Dorset Heritage Coast to the resort of Swanage. Spend time in the Victorian town before boarding the steam train for a nostalgic journey through 6 miles of magnicent Purbeck countryside to Norden to rejoin the coach. Day 5 Homeward journey.
