Day 1 Travel to Sheeld, your base for 4 nights. Day 2 Visit the historic market town of Buxton, renowned for its healing waters and Pavilion Gardens set in 23 acres of Victorian landscaping. Continue to Lyme Park and step back in time to the Edwardian age – Lyme’s ‘Golden Era’. Enjoy the house with its lavish interiors, beautiful gardens and the enchanting lake where a certain Mr Darcy appeared in the BBC’s production of Pride and Prejudice. Day 3 Travel to Crich and to the Tramway Village, a lovingly restored period village that is also home to the National Tramway Museum. Exhibitions bring to life the history of the tram and visitors
can ride on the restored tramways. Other attractions include a workshop and viewing gallery, an old fashioned sweet shop and a restored public house. Afterwards, continue to the pretty town of Ashbourne. Day 4 A leisurely morning and drive through the Peak District, passing the Derwent Dam and Ladybower Reservoir. On then to enjoy the highlight of the tour, a visit to Chatsworth House and Gardens, the magnicent home of the Devonshire family, which has appeared in period dramas. Day 5 Depart hotel for homeward journey.

Day 1 Travel to your hotel in South Yorkshire. Day 2 Today, visit Brodsworth Hall and Gardens to hear of its impressive rise as a country seat and steady decline until it was saved in the 1990s. Inside, the interiors were conserved as close to possible as they were found, preserving its distinctive character. On return, visit much loved Elsecar, a heritage centre village built by the gentry which became an international centre of ironmaking and coalmining. It is now home to a number of independent shops and cafes. Day 3 O to Bronte country and Haworth where a Bronte themed guided tour awaits. From here, it’s a short hop to the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway. First opened in 1867 to transport coal and textiles to the local mills, journey back in
time and enjoy ve miles of stunning scenery. To round the day o, head to the Victorian spa town of Ilkley, known for its breath-taking moorland scenery, with time to wander at your own pace. Day 4 To Sheeld and Kelham Island Museum. Delve into the story of manufacture, from master craftsmen to mass production. Experience life and work during the Industrial Revolution, the Victorian era, celebrate the Women of Steel and see how industry forged this cosmopolitan city. In contrast, then take a scenic drive to the Peak District National Park and the village of Castleton at the head of the Hope Valley. Take time to stroll or perhaps treat yourself to some ‘Blue John’, a semi-precious mineral, mineral, unique to this area. Day 5 Homeward journey.
