Day 1 Travel to the hotel in Cardi. Day 2 First stop is Caerphilly, for a visit to the largest castle in Wales. Explore this 13th century sleeping giant before time at leisure in the town, famous for its cheese. This afternoon is to St Fagans National Museum of History, standing in the magnicent grounds of St Fagans Castle and Gardens. One of Wales’s most popular heritage attractions, visitors explore history through people’s everyday lives. Day 3 Today begins with admission to the Royal Mint Visitor Centre, for an escorted tour of the production process. From here, enjoy an engag- ing, self-guided tour of static and interactive exhibits, bringing to life the Mint’s heritage. This afternoon, we include a tour of the attractive

city centre of Cardi, as well as the modernised Cardi Bay with its fascinating public buildings, including the Welsh Assembly. Day 4 An excursion to the foothills of the Brecon Beacons National Park and a morning visit to Big Pit Mining Museum to learn about the region’s heritage. As well as an underground tour of the mine (additional £8 to guarantee this tour during school holidays), there is a virtual tour above ground, providing a moving and entertaining illustration of the lives of miners at work and home. This afternoon is to Penderyn Visitor Cen- tre, to learn about whisky making in Wales and general Welsh history in the exhibition centre. Day 5 Homeward journey.

Day 4 Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Gower Peninsula and The Mumbles, an area renowned for its sandy beaches. Visit the Gower Heritage Centre in a converted water mill where a guide will join the coach for a tour of the peninsula’s highlights before returning for a Vintage Tea or Vegetable Cawl and tour of the mill. This afternoon is at leisure in Swansea. Day 5 Homeward journey.

Day 1 Travel to Carmarthenshire via the impressive Brecon Beacons. Day 2 Today is a full day to Tenby. Take time to experience the friendly harbour, relax and unwind on one of the three fantastic beaches or simply sit and people watch. For the more adventurous, why not take the boat journey to Caldy Island, owned and run by a community of Cistercian monks, open to the public on summer weekdays and Saturdays (crossing is subject to weather and additional cost applies, payable locally). Day 3 Begin the day at the National Botanic Gardens of Wales. Nestled in the Tywi Valley, the garden combines themed displays, rolling parkland and secluded woodland. The award winning Great Glasshouse is home to a
