Ideally based in the Alpine resort of Davos, this excellent tour takes in wonderful scenery, historic towns, chic resorts and a journey across the border into Italy and Tirano. Included is an unforgettable journey through the high Alps on the world-renowned Bernina Express train. Day 1 Channel crossing. Overnight in the Metz area. Day 2 Travel on to Switzerland and Davos for a 5 night stay. Day 3 A day at leisure to explore Davos. The Davos/ Klosters card can be used to take a trip to a nearby town or village on the local bus, or take a trip on the Schatzalp Mountain Railway for scenic views across the peaks. Day 4 Travel to the nearby historic city of Chur, the oldest city in Switzerland. The pedestrian centre has a pretty old town to explore, with cobbled streets, the city’s cathedral, numerous cafes and shops. An afternoon in Klosters is recommended, with its pretty lake and town centre. Day 5 Drive or take the local train from Davos, then onto Filisur where the Bernina Express Train awaits. Travelling from peaks to palms, this exhilarating
journey travels past lakes, glaciers, and through a series of loops and tunnels, before arriving in the Italian resort of Tirano. Rejoin the coach and travel back to Klosters, via the Bernina Pass. This journey can also be enjoyed in reverse with an afternoon train departure from Tirano. Day 6 A morning excursion to the chic resort of St Moritz. Surrounded by mountains, and dominated by its pretty lake, this elegant town has various museums to explore. The cable car from the centre takes you on a journey to the top of Piz Nair for spectacular views across the mountains and region. Day 7 Leave Switzerland and stop for an overnight stay in the Metz area. Day 8 Short Channel crossing to Dover and home.

Day 1 Channel crossing, overnight in the Metz area. Day 2 Travel through the Black Forest, past Lake Constance to Feldkirch for a 3 night stay. Day 3 A day at leisure in Feldkirch. Included today is return local bus transport between the hotel and centre and a guided walk of the historic town. Day 4 Full day in Bregenzerwald to include Schwarzberg and the Bödele Pass. Today we include a cheese farm visit and schnapps distillery visit with tastings. Day 5 Leave Austria and travel to Chur to join the mid morning Glacier Express train. Travel over the
exciting Oberalp and Furka high mountain passes before arriving in Brig. Here rejoin the coach and travel through the Rhône Valley to arrive in Les Diablerets for a 2 night stay. Day 6 Visit Lake Geneva. See Lausanne with time to explore the chic Ouchy Harbour area and return via beautiful Montreux with its long lakeside promenade. Day 7 North, past Basel and Strasbourg, to the Metz area for dinner and an overnight stay. Day 8 Short Channel crossing to Dover and home.
