Exploring The Lot and Dordogne Valleys Our tour explores the highlights the picturesque Lot and Dordogne Valleys have to oer. Ideally located in the very heart of the region, the historic pilgrimage centre of Rocamadour makes the ideal base to explore the hill top towns, spectacular gardens and meandering Dordogne River that the area is known for.

8 days from £631 including:

Day 1 Channel crossing. Overnight in the Orleans area. Day 2 Travel through the French countryside and past Limoges to arrive in Rocamadour for a 5 night stay. Day 3 A day at leisure to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Rocamadour, including its imposing mediaeval castle, monastic buildings and charming pedestrian centre. This town has been welcoming visitors and pilgrims for over 1,000 years. Day 4 A morning visit to the historic hilltop town of Domme to take in the impressive views across the region. Continue to the pretty riverside town of La Roque-Gageac for an included cruise on a traditional barge.

Day 5 Visit the picturesque town of Sarlat-la- Canéda, known for its local food delicacies. The charming cobbled streets of the old town are full of shops and pavement cafes, as well as the Cathedral and Chateau to explore. Return via the mediaeval town of Souillac. Day 6 Travel northwards to the vibrant town of Brivela-Gaillarde. Enjoy the arts, crafts and local food and drink produced in the town. There are also interesting museums to discover, including the Edmund Michelet museum recounting life in the resistance during WWII. Day 7 Leave Rocamadour and stop for an overnight stay on the outskirts of Paris. Day 8 Short Channel crossing to Dover and home.

This tour is based between Normandy and Brittany, just a short distance from the historic town of Mont Saint-Michel. From William the Conqueror to WWII, this region has a rich history to discover, as well as fortied towns, mediaeval villages, and coastal resorts to explore. Mont Saint-Michel and the Côte d’Armor

Day 1 Channel crossing. Overnight in the Rouen area. Day 2 Continue through the Normandy countryside, to Mont Saint-Michel for a 4 night stay. Day 3 Spend the day exploring the famous island, dominated by its stunning Abbey. The town has welcomed visitors for centuries and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The mediaeval pedestrian centre is full of shops and cafes, which culminate at the Abbey. The island can be accessed by regular local buses or walking from the hotel along the causeway (approx.1km). Day 4 Travel to Caen, once home to William the Conqueror, and the centre for those wishing to explore the D-Day history in the region. A local guide is recommended for the WWII sites, as well

as admission to the Caen Memorial which brings to life the struggles the city faced. Alternatively, there are Abbeys, gardens and a castle to consider for a dierent visit. A tour and tasting at a local Calvados producer can be included for this day. Day 5 Cross into Brittany and explore the Côte d’Armor. Begin with a stop in the walled city of Saint-Malo. Discover the harbour, ramparts and Cathedral in its mediaeval centre. Continue along the coast to the elegant coastal town of Pléneuf- Val-André with its beach and marina. Return via the charming riverside town of Dinan, with its mediaeval old town. Day 6 Leave Mont Saint-Michel and travel to the Rouen area for an overnight stay. Day 7 Short Channel crossing to Dover and home.
