Day 1 Short Channel crossing. Overnight in the Metz area. Day 2 Travel through Germany, past Nuremburg and on to the hotel in Hohenau. Day 3 A day to relax in Hohenau. This traditional village oers a peaceful day to relax and enjoy the surrounding countryside, or take a local bus to a nearby town. Day 4 Full day excursion to the beautiful city of Passau. Known as the Three Rivers City as the Danube, Inn and Ilz Rivers meet here, it has a stunning setting. Renowned for its impressive architecture, there are squares, narrow lanes and bridges to explore, as well as the hillside Veste Oberhaus castle and St Stevens Cathedral. A pleasure cruise can be booked to further enjoy this special city. Day 5 A scenic day travelling through Bavaria and across the border into Czechia. Continue on to the picturesque town of Českŷ Krumlov. The old town is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site and nestles in a horseshoe bend of the River Vlatva.

With pavement cafés, a colourful town square, museums, and its dominating castle to visit, there is plenty to discover. Day 6 Take a short journey to Neuschönau and into the Bavarian National Park. Here enjoy a guided walking tour of the forest along an accessible walkway which oers an elevated view of the area. For those who wish, there is a 44 meter high observation tower for a magnicent panorama. Spend the afternoon in the mediaeval city of Regensburg. The historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with over 2000 years of history to explore including the Cathedral, 12th century stone bridge and the Historic Sausage Kitchen which is thought to be the oldest continuously open restaurant in the world. Day 7 Leave Hohenau and travel across Germany and stop for dinner and an overnight stay near Metz. Day 8 On to Calais for a short Channel crossing to Dover and home.

This tour is based in the small Bavarian village of Ettal, which is dominated by its beautiful Benedictine Abbey. Surrounded by forest, valleys, lakes and mountains, this scenic tour includes visits to Oberammergau, Füssen and Munich, as well as neighbouring Austria and imperial Innsbruck. Ettal and the Bavarian Alps

Day 1 Channel crossing. Overnight in the Metz area. Day 2 Travel on to southern Germany and Ettal for a 5 night stay. Day 3 A day at leisure to explore Ettal. Admission and a guided tour of the impressive Abbey complex and Brewery, which is opposite the hotel, is included. The village has a number of shops and cafés, and the hotel has a large terrace for those wanting to enjoy a locally brewed beer. Day 4 Begin the day in the nearby traditional town of Oberammergau, famed for its many ornately painted buildings. The town’s museum exhibits wood carvings dating over 500 years old, and tours of the famous Passion Play theatre can be arranged too. Continue for an afternoon visit to the riverside town of Füssen, close to Lake Forggensee. Enjoy the pedestrian centre with its many shops and pavement cafés.

Day 5 A Full day across the border to Austria and the capital of the Tyrol, Innsbruck. Take time to explore the historic old town, or perhaps visit the Bergisel Ski jump for views across the city. A guided walking tour of the centre is recommended. Return to Ettal via the pretty town of Seefeld, situated in the high Alps. Day 6 A full day to the regional capital, Munich. Meet a local guide for a walking tour of the historic city centre. Take time to discover the impressive town square, the various museums, galleries and the Royal Residenz of Maximilian II. Alternatively, there is the majestic Nymphenburg Palace on the outskirts of the city centre, or the BMW Museum showcasing their 100 years of history. Day 7 Leave Ettal and stop for an overnight stay in the Metz area. Day 8 Short Channel crossing to Dover and home.
