Day 1 Short Channel crossing. Overnight in Holland. Day 2 Travel across Germany and into Denmark for dinner and an overnight stay near Kolding. Day 3 Travel to Hirtshals to board a fast-craft for the exciting journey across the Skagerrak Sea to Norway. Leave the port and make the short journey to Horten for a 3 night stay. Day 4 After breakfast, enjoy a day in Horten exploring this historic town. We recommend a visit to the Marine Museum and discover more about the region’s naval past. A guided tour of the Midgard Viking Centre is included, which has a fantastic exhibition to explore. Day 5 Enjoy a full day to the capital, Oslo. With a compact city centre, there are many attractions to include, such as Vigeland Park and its many sculptures, the fabulous Viking Ship Museum and The National Museum with its art collection. A guided tour of the city is highly recommended. Day 6 After breakfast, board a mid-morning ferry in Horten for the short crossing over the Oslo Fjord to Moss. Enjoy a leisurely journey into Sweden and to Gothenburg for a 2 night stay. Day 7 Enjoy a day in and around Gothenburg. Visit the botanic gardens which are the largest in
Northern Europe, or one of the many museums the city can boast. An included boat trip takes you on a guided cruise around the city’s canals and into the harbour. A morning guide for the city is highly recommended. Day 8 After an early breakfast, take the ferry from Gothenburg to Frederikshavn in Denmark. On arrival, travel southwards with a recommended stop in Aarhaus, before arriving in Horsens for a 2 night stay. Day 9 A full day exploring the area, beginning with a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kongernes Jelling, and trace the Viking heritage of the region. Travel across the peninsula and enjoy a tour and tasting at Stauning Whisky. End the day in Ringkøbing, a pretty market town which is the oldest of its kind in the area. Day 10 After breakfast, leave Denmark and travel on to the Bremen area for dinner and an overnight stay. A short detour into Kiel or Hamburg is possible enroute. Day 11 Travel through Holland and on to the North Sea coast for a relaxing overnight crossing to Hull or Harwich. Day 12 Arrive back in the UK and travel home.
