Day 1 Short Channel crossing. Overnight in Holland. Day 2 Travel on through Holland and into Germany to the Hamburg area for an overnight stay. Day 3 Spend time discovering Hamburg before proceeding north, across the Danish border to Odense for a 4 night stay. Day 4 Start with an included guided walk exploring the historic centre of Odense, following in the footsteps of Hans Christian Andersen. The afternoon is at leisure, with the chance to visit the great storyteller’s birthplace museum. Day 5 Travel to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Kongernes Jelling, considered the birthplace of Denmark. Trace the Viking legacy, explore the Monument area and the ancient runestones, the historic Jelling Church and Viking burial

mounds. A stop in the historic town of Kolding is recommended. Day 6 A visit to the pretty Egeskov Castle is recommended. Considered one of the best- preserved Renaissance palaces in Northern Europe, highlights include the interiors, classic vehicle museum and extensive gardens. On the return, a visit to Funen Village Open Air Museum is suggested with buildings dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. Day 7 Depart Odense for the Bremen area and overnight stay. Day 8 Travel into Holland and on to the North Sea coast for a relaxing overnight crossing to the UK. Day 9 Arrive back in the UK and travel home.

Day 3 Continue north, around Hamburg and take the ferry to Rødby. Travel on to Køge for a 4 night stay. Day 4 After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely morning in Køge with a visit to the Kitchen Museum which tells the town’s history from the Stone Age to the present day. This afternoon, discover the Vikingeborgen Borgring in nearby Lellinge. Here, discover the story of Harald Bluetooth and the site of his circular castle. Day 5 Make the journey northwards for a full day in Copenhagen. See the Little Mermaid, the pretty harbour around Nyhavn and the impressive Amalienborg Palace. This compact city has many museums and galleries to explore. A guided tour is

highly recommended, as is an informative harbour cruise. Day 6 A scenic day to the southwest, beginning with a visit to the Holmegaard Glass Museum which houses glass objects dating back 200 years, as well as a workshop to visit. Continue to the coast and the pretty Gavnø Castle and Park for an included visit. End the day with a visit to Vesterhave Vineyard for a tour and tasting. Planted in 2010, this vineyard now produces 12 varieties of wines to discover. Day 7 Depart Denmark, taking the ferry to Puttgarden and travel on to northern Germany for dinner and an overnight stay. Day 8 Travel through Germany, into Holland and on to the North Sea coast for a relaxing overnight crossing to Hull or Harwich. Day 9 Arrive back in the UK and travel home
