G od ’ s W ord is composed of no less than 25 per cent prophetic truth. As an example, the Apostle Peter de clares, “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts” (II Peter 1:19). Basically, the word prophecy has reference to God speaking some declarative truth relative to the future. This is the man ner in which His prophets speak for Him. A two-fold aspect is brought into view with God being spoken for and
with that which is going to take place. The apostle points out the importance of these things in our need to give heed to them. Today we are living in the world’s midnight; in perhaps her dark est hour. People are confused mentally and spiritually. Even our national and international leaders cannot tell us what the hours ahead will bring and what decisions must be made. Those of us who know the Lord Jesus Christ as personal Saviour, however, realize that our destiny is in the hands of God Himself. The question many people want to (continued on next page) 3
