FPA Prepares Speakers For Fall Conference

The Flexible Packaging Association’s (FPA) 2018 Fall Executive Conference will be held on Thursday, Oc- tober 4, at the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile, Chicago, Illinois. This one-day conference will focus on industry-specific topics including results from the flexible packaging sustainability benefits study FPA recently conducted; cyber security and preventative measures; an update on the FPA govern- ment af fair s program and trade war s; and a polypropylene market update. The conference agenda also features Kevin “Kal” Kallaugher, award-winning editorial cartoonist for The Economist and the Baltimore Sun ; Shawn Rhodes, President and Founder, Shoshin Consulting, a global expert in pivoting in challenging environ- ments; and Guy Adami, an analyst on CNBC’s “Fast Money” and a professional investor. Brian Hall, Managing Director, Client Services, G&S Business Communications, will present the findings from FPA’s new research study.The study builds upon the findings of the 2015 Brand Value Study and the 2016 Transition Advantages Study and explores how flexible packaging lends itself to brand owners’ abili- ty to establish a reputation for environmental stew- ardship. The study also provides FPA members with qualitative and quantitative data analyzing brand owner and consumer perceptions of the sustainabili- ty benefits of flexible packaging. Michael Katz, Attorney at Law and Shareholder, Maschoff Brennan, will discuss cyber security and preventive measures for conference attendees;Alison Keane, Esq., President and CEO, FPA, will provide up- dates on the FPA government affairs program and trade wars; and Joel Morales, Executive Director Poly- olefins Americas, IHS Markit, will provide an update on the polypropylene market. FPA Members Participate In Government Affairs Meeting Last week, representatives from Flexible Packaging Association (FPA) member companies took part in a United States Senate Homeland Security and Govern- ment Affairs Committee Roundtable Hearing entitled, Examining the Effect of Tariffs on Wisconsin Busi- nesses. This event, held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, highlighted the significant impact of the Administra- tion’s tariffs.While this event focused on companies in Wisconsin, the stories of FPA member companies in Wisconsin echo the impacts of member compa- nies across the country, the association said.
