Bobst Hosts Event In Mexico

In mid-June, Bobst and 11 partners welcomed more than 100 representatives from Mexico’s label and packaging industry to an event showcasing the bene- fits of digitizing the flexographic printing process. The roadshow at the Intercontinental Presidente (Polanco) hotel in Mexico City put forward how the simplicity of digital printing can be applied to flexo labels and packaging. Atlas Titan, AVT, Coim, Daetwyler Mexico, Dow, Esko, Kodak, Macro, Rossini, Siegwerk and tesa Twin- lock also participated in the roadshow. The topics covered ranged from next-generation flexo platemak- ing workflows, high-efficiency lamination and pack- aging technologies, and value creation across the value chain. Innovations and trends in flexible pack- aging, and maximizing CI press ROI with innovative flexo plate technology were also covered. Mouvent, the digital printing competence center of Bobst Group, also introduced its digital offering at the roadshow. In other news, Constantia Flexibles Group has in- vested in a Bobst CL 850D duplex laminator to ex- pand the operations of Oai Hung Manufacturing Joint Stock Co., the production site in Vietnam, that’s been a part of its pharma division since 2016.The CL 850D is due for delivery and installation in the cleanroom of the company’s production facility in Ho-Chi-Minh City in the second half of 2018. Esko has acquired BLUE Software, LLC, a label and artwork management software company based in Chicago, Illinois, from Diversis Capital and Schawk Digital Solutions. This acquisition is said to join two complementary teams to unlock product packaging development, management and execution efficiencies for brand owners in the consumer packaged goods, life sci- ences and retail industries and for a variety of suppli- ers in the packaging value chain.
