The Ryde community will benefit hugely from a transformation of healthcare following the endorsement of the Ryde Hospital redevelopment clinical services plan (CSP) by NSW Health earlier this year. The CSP forms the foundation of the planning for the redevelopment and outlines the health service clinical requirements for Ryde Hospital over the next 10 years. Concept images and schematic designs for the redevelopment have also been unveiled showcasing the vision for the $479 million redevelopment.

culture, connecting with country, and sustainability strategies.” Further detailed designs of the new hospital site will be incorporated into the additional planning application to be submitted early next year, which will seek approval for the main construction works for the redevelopment. The Ryde Hospital redevelopment will include a new and expanded emergency department, medical imaging department and intensive care unit, new operating theatres, adult overnight inpatient beds, a new purpose-built ambulatory care centre, a new paediatric short stay unit, and improved landscaping, urban spaces and car parking.

“The concept images and designs have been developed in consultation
with staff and clinicians, key healthcare stakeholders and representatives from the local community who have been providing their feedback to help inform the design of the new facility,” Heather said. “Further consultation with staff, clinicians and the community is taking place, as more detailed designs for the new building starts to take shape.
