My classroom was this one above the library,” Shirley said joyfully as she showed the rest of the team around. “I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for this school!” Principal Martha Kaisapi was thrilled to receive the boxes of magazines for the school and to have a visit from Shirley. “As one of those who is a product of this school, I am happy you are able to come back and give back,” she told her. “This is a great thing that your team is doing; supporting the education of our next generation.” Some of the teachers also added that the magazines helped
students understand where other provinces are, providing a helpful visual of destinations around the country that they may not have travelled to themselves. Some of these staff have been with the company for over 30 years, doing work that is at times physically demanding and beyond what others may be cut out to do. On December 19, Mr Fraser met with all the dedicated cleaning staff and thanked each one personally for always turning up to work and ensuring all the properties are clean, neat and tidy. Each one was also presented with a gift voucher as a token of PNG Air’s appreciation, with Mr Fraser telling them they deserved this added gift during Christmas.
“Thank you to Boss Man for this extra gift,” one of the overjoyed staff said. “Christmas is a time to be happy and celebrate with our family and this extra gift will go a long way to aid with my family’s Christmas celebration.” PNG Air’s cleaning staff are delegated to the sales offices at Vision City and the Pacific MMI building in Town. They also clean the Airport Plaza sales office, the domestic traffic office at the Domestic Terminal and they even look after all the office spaces from the hangar to the head office at 7 Mile. They are truly angels in disguise and deserve all the rewards and recognition they get!
