AS IT HAPPENED ECOC 2022
ECOC 2022 in Basel was an unqualified success, pulling in crowds of industry professionals and academics from across Europe and beyond. IT’S BACK TO BUSINESS IN BASEL ECOC 2022 CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION:
THE CONFERENCE The European Conference on Optical Communication is one of the leading conferences on optical communication and attracts scientists and researchers from across the world, and ECOC 2022 was no exception. Not only top universities, but also the world’s biggest and most influential companies presented their latest breakthroughs from materials and devices to systems and networks, and their insightful visions for the future. ECOC is the key meeting place to share knowledge, exchange ideas, foster innovation and start collaborations on a global level. ECOC also features Europe’s largest exhibition in the field, where visitors get the chance to see the latest products, find new customers or intensify their current relationships. THE EXHIBITION Against the backdrop of bustling Basel, which sits at the key intersection of France, Germany, and Switzerland ECOC 2022 got off to a flying start. With a mixture of optical connectivity market analysis, ground-breaking research and the latest products creating a buzz around the Messe, the number and diversity of attendance, exhibitors and speakers at the Basel Messe, was firmly back to pre-Covid levels (see page 31).
