HOME & COTTAGE
at House of Excellence. “We’ve been doing this a long time,” notes Jeffery. “Our team has a combined 150 years of experience between us.” Their expertise extends to other product ranges, like Hunter-Douglas blinds, shutters and window shades. “Customers also trust us with custom colour and stain matching,” says Jeffery. As for that pop of colour that many homeowners look for, Benjamin Moore recently announced a possible option–Cinnamon Slate, its 2025 Colour of the Year. A mix of heathered plum and velvety brown, Cinnamon Slate reflects current home décor trends of warm and calming earth tones. It is complemented by soft greens, browns and grey shades in the company’s 2025 colour palette. “The colours in the 2025 palette work beautifully together across rooms but also stand alone to add a subtle hint of colour,” states Jeffery. The shades in the palette are ideal for everything from accent walls to cupboards, kitchen islands, ceilings, doors, trim, stairs and, of course, any room in the home. “We always encourage lots of exploration of our colour wall. No matter what a customer chooses–whether from the 2025 palette or something completely different–our team can show them how to incorporate a range of complementary colours in their space,” says Jeffery.
The new store features a 24-ft colour display for the more than 3,500 Benjamin Moore colour choices they carry, ensuring that customers can get a feel for the full range of hues available to them and the various lines of paint that Benjamin Moore produces. “Benjamin Moore is an industry leader in creating paints that are low in odour and VOCs,” states Jeffery. But these paints do not compromise on vibrancy or durability, Jeffery explains: “The Gennex waterborne colourants used in our paints are proprietary to Benjamin Moore. They are environmentally friendly and resist fading for very long life.” And these products are not just for homeowners. “Specializing in high-quality coatings, Benjamin Moore has numerous lines to offer one and all projects, from homeowner to large-scale commercial coatings,” says Jeffery. These include interior and exterior paints, along with primers, enamels, epoxies, urethanes and other specialty coatings and products. Amongst all that is new and noteworthy, customers will still experience what they’ve always known from House of Excellence–exceptional customer service. From its beginnings in the 1970s as Northumberland Paints, to its Charlottetown and Summerside locations today, great customer service has always been a point of pride for everyone
