How Our Guest Services Specialist Brings Calm to Troubled Callers

MEET THE TEAM

Among the thousands of calls Daysi Acuna has taken from prospective clients since she joined Dellutri Law Group two years ago, she remembers one in particular. The caller had lost her job after the pandemic, then Hurricane Ian destroyed her house, and after that, she got sick. “It was one thing after another,” Daysi recalls. To that woman, calling our firm to ask about filing bankruptcy felt like another failure. “This isn’t your fault at all!” Daysi told the woman. “She did cry a bit, and we took a moment. I told her, ‘Don’t be hard on yourself.’” Daysi reassured her that Carmen would help her find a way out. Comforted, the woman set up an appointment. It’s all in a day’s work for our guest services specialist. Daysi Acuna is one of the first voices our callers hear. Empathetic by nature, she has a smile in her voice and a willingness to listen and care about people. Upbeat, dedicated, and hardworking, she has done a fantastic job on the switchboard.

As she fielded calls from Medicare patients who were often struggling, she strived to help them feel better, she says. “I had to be creative sometimes to at least make them happy during that one call.” When Carmen interviewed her for her current job, they connected very well, Daysi recalls. “I am a very talkative person, he is a very talkative person,” she says. She was too nervous to remember any of Carmen’s out-of-the-box interview questions, but she does remember his “very colorful, very Floridian shirt,” she says. “He is charismatic, and that’s one of the first things people notice about him.” Daysi’s understanding of the health care system, coupled with her flawless Spanish, enable her to put all our prospective new clients at ease. “I am glad to be one of the first ones to talk to them and help them with their troubles,” she says. “I feel proud because I know how Carmen works. In my mind I am thinking, ‘We can totally help you. You will be fine.’”
