INDUSTRY DRIVEN — Johnson’s Hot Rod Shop

I n 2018 the NSRA invited Lokar Performance Products to be the inaugural “Industry Driven” display at the Street Rod Nationals, followed by Pete & Jake’s, George Poteet, Advanced Plating, Danny’s Rod Shop, Legens Hot Rod Shop, Nichols Paint & Fab, and for 2025 NSRA reached out to Johnson’s Hot Rod Shop located in Gadsden, Alabama. They appreciated the recognition and as very worthy Industry Driven candidates, Alan and Angie Johnson fired up their Peterbilt and delivered an impressive display filled with finished projects, a full line of their JHRS billet

The late Vernon Walker would be over the moon with the job Alan and his team have taken to carry the Walker Radiator legacy far into the 21st Century. Vernon also knew Alan’s perfectionist personality and the two became great friends. Vernon didn’t want anybody but Alan to keep his two ’39 Chevy sedans ready to hit the road with only the insertion of the key. No qualms about it! Both Chevies were on display as well as a bronze statue found during Vernon’s extensive travels in his street rods, and he loved it. Ever since debuting a ’37 Ford Cabriolet Phantom at the Street Rod Nationals in 1993, JHRS has turned out a list of builds that elevates it to one of the premier hot rod shops on the planet. If you missed them be sure to check them out at www.johnsonradiatorworks.com.

aluminum offerings and the icing on the cake were the new Johnson Radiator Works radiators on display.

Angie & Alan received the NSRA “2024 Individual of the Year” award.
