StreetScene-Oct25

It’s not us, it really did seem to be the year of ’33-34 Fords (aka Model 40) and we definitely spent some time admiring the bare metal stylings of Les Houchin’s ’34 Ford coupe that came in from Shepherdsville, KY.

We are huge Hudson Hornet fans (from before the movie Cars), they make bitchin’ customs in our mind. We also love Gus O’Day’s track-inspired ’54 from Orient, OH, with all the factory speed parts on the 308ci flat motor, the 1954 straight grille looks just right on a track car, and the rollcage makes it all real.

We love the 4/6- inch chop, the House of Kolor paint, the 1958 Dodge wheel covers, and the roll and pleat interior on John & Susie Cooper’s

’49 Ford Business Coupe from Avon, IN, but we dug more on the fully dressed 248ci Flatty with three deuces. Low, rum- bling, and not as slow. OCTOBER 2025 67
