INTERNATIONAL SHOW CAR ASSOCIATION (ISCA) PICKS

F or most parts of the U.S. the winter months put the brakes on cruising, but thanks to indoor car shows the fun continues all year long. For well over half a century the International Show Car Association (ISCA) has been producing indoor car shows and whereas outdoor shows promote the reliability and drivability aspects of our cars, indoor shows tend to judge cars

from a detail and level of build quality. Several huge indoor shows are known for some of the most coveted awards in the industry. The NSRA teamed up with the ISCA a number of years ago and now representatives of the ISCA attend NSRA events throughout the rodding season awarding “ISCA Picks” to cars they feel exemplify outstanding build and detail quality.

Our friends from the ISCA love coming to Louisville and they chose Kenny Dillon’s ’70 Ford Mustang from Clearfield, KY, for an ISCA Pick. It’s built Ford tough with a Roadster Shop Fast Track chassis, 5.0 Coyote power with a Whipple super- charger, and 18/19-inch Forgeline Grudge wheels.

We drooled all over Marshal Chesrown’s ISCA Pick winning ’31 Ford highboy out of Bradenton, FL, that was built by Roseville Rod and Custom. We loved the SCOT blown and Ardun headed flatty, the interior is wood and leather heaven, and unbelievable detailing abounds everywhere.

TWO LONG DISTANCE AWARDS PRESENTED

T wo Long Distance Nationals each year—the “Long Distance Continental USA” (contiguous or lower 48 states) and “Long Distance Outside the Continental USA.” To be eligible for either of the Long Distance awards the vehicle must have been driven to the NSRA Street Rod Nationals, and it must be in attendance for Sunday’s “Circle of Winners” display and Awards Ceremony that awards are given out at the NSRA Street Rod follows. The straight-line (as the crow flies) distance from the entrant’s home address to the event is used to determine the winners in both categories of Long Distance.

Jan & Jeff Heffrich traveled all the way from Lakewood, Washington, to win the “2025 Long Distance Continental USA” award. The gorgeous ’61 Nash Metropolitan carried them 1,946 miles and we’re sure the orange and ivory cruiser created lots of smiles.

Ulf Kajgard came from Bjursas, Sweden, to capture the “2025 Long Distance Outside the Continental USA” award. His Root Beer brown ’32 Ford 3W traveled 4,306 miles during the journey.
