StreetScene-Oct25

If you are an avid reader of StreetScene then you know we are suckers for a nice flame paint job. This fiery ‘72 Corvette is owned by Charles Gaines of Quenton, KY. A 400ci small-block resides in the car’s roomy engine bay while a Holley Sniper fuel injection unit

lifts the air cleaner slightly through the hood cutout.

Louisville’s Herman Howell has been a fixture of the Street Rod Nationals for years and it was nice to check out his ’70 Chevrolet Camaro with 5.3 LS power running Liberty heads, a 3.42 geared 12-bolt posi, and monochrome Anthracite Gray Sherwin- Williams paint with darker stripes.

Dennis & Dolly Portman made the long haul from Carmichael, CA, in their ‘53 Chevrolet

BelAir. The car has been family-owned since it was driven off of the showroom floor. In fact, Dolly took her drivers license test in it. The heirloom hardtop was cho- sen for the “NSRA Southwest Safety” award.
