Production of affordable clean agro-fuel from non-edible oils in India Ved Kumar , Dharmendra Singh School of Managment Sciences Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India Agriculture and its oilseed crops will prove to be very useful in the production of clean and affordable energy because in India, most of the people produce different types of crops according to the season. If the cultivation of non-edible oil crops is promoted by giving proper training to the farmers and setting up small agro-fuel industries then formers can become self-reliant and increase their income. Among 350 oilseed crops found in India, few of them are edible. Some toxic oilseed crops like Jamdua ( Brassica arvensis ), Jangly Til (Sesame), Castor and Jatropha etc have oil content, whose oil can be used as agro-fuel by transesterification process. Production of agro-fuels in India will not only create new jobs but contribute in formers income, country’s economy, and environmental benefits but will also reduce India’s dependency on petroleum fuels. This paper aims to present, production of affordable agro-fuel, as well as investment and employment opportunities due to the development of agro-fuel in India.
