Electro photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants over cerium doped-calcium titanate nano-perovskite Olwethu Mtalana, Letlogonolo Mabena Department of Chemistry, Tshwane University of Technology, Pretoria, South Africa Due to the quickening pace of industrialisation and the quickening of population growth, the need for and availability of clean water supplies have become important global issues. Hazardous organic compounds such organic dyes, phenols, and pesticides have been found in wastewater, which has caused a lot of concern 3 . Exposure to these hazardous organic contaminants found in wastewaters may result in a negative impact on both aquatic life and human health 1 . Significant efforts have been made to design highly proficient photocatalyst materials for various applications such as water pollutant degradation, water splitting, CO 2 reduction, and nitrogen fixation. Perovskite photocatalyst materials have gained special attention due to their exceptional properties because of their flexibility in chemical composition, structure, bandgap, oxidation states, and valence states 2 . This study focuses on synthesising calcium titanate nano perovskite utilising various titanium precursors and then doping the calcium titanate with cerium. The necessary material was prepared using the hydrothermal method. XRD and FTIR methods were used to evaluate the synthetic material. References 1. AL-NUAIM, M. A., ALWASITI, A. A. & SHNAIN, Z.
