To the young men he brought a message on “Liv ing This Side of Pentecost,’’ which pro duced a profound impression and resulted in the surrender of a number of men. To the Lyceum girls he spoke on “ She Hath Done What She Could,” or “ Womanhood A t Its Best," an address which stimulated a desire to bring all and lay at His feet. Dr. Henry is always a welcome guest at the Institute. Mr. W. H. Nowack, where our Brother Von Klitzing is at work. These young wo men have made good in their work at home and are well qualified for the larger worn in China. JVIiss Pohnert has been a leader in the Endeavor Society of the First Pres byterian Church of Pasadena and was re cently invited to speak in the morning ser vice of that church. She will he supported by the Endeavorers and Sunday school of that church. T h e prayers of God’s people for the work here are being answered and we are hav ing times of blessing. I have now been here over .four months. We have had good congregations at the services. Some twenty souls have been saved, ten or twelve back sliders have been reclaimed and others brought into the deeper Christian life. Even now there are many people under deep conviction of sin. We desire the prayers of the Christian people that God will continue to bless the work and that these who are under conviction of sin may soon surrender to Christ. R. W . A nderson . Reward, CaL D ear Mr. Horton:—W e are returning you your Bible Institute worker with such grateful hearts for having sent him to us. He has proven himself more than we dared ask for. W e have had such wonderful truths expounded from his lips and I know it has meant more than we even antici pated it would to have him in our midst for the week. If the Lord wills we hope to have a Mission in Santa Barbara some time soon and we all are hoping that Mr. D. can come back to us. W e do not know how it is to be brought about, but it is on our hearts and we know He can do the impossible part of it. As a result of Mr. D.’s presence here we hope to send at least one of our dear girls down to the Bible Institute this Fall. M rs . G. S. B. Santa Barbara, Cal.
