EDUCATION: MSc or PGDip ADVANCED HEALTH AND CARE MANAGEMENT (VALUE-BASED) COURSE OVERVIEW Our MSc and PGDip AHCM (Value-Based) is the first of its kind, globally to offer learners a higher-level qualification in the subject. This will put you at the forefront of this evolving discipline which will be leading change across health and care systems world-wide. With a unique format that is sympathetic to the role of professional learners from health, social care, third sector and life- science industries, the Course aims for students to use and apply the knowledge gained to benefit the individual and the system. The curriculum enables individuals to immerse themselves in the new paradigm of value in health and care; how to implement it in practice at a population and individual level, capturing outcomes that matter, utilising digital technologies, applying new costing models, innovative procurement approaches and adopting a total pathway-of-care approach. You will develop the necessary skills to implement an innovative Value-Based strategy within an organisation.

YOUR VALUE-BASED ADVANCED HEALTH AND CARE EXPERIENCE •Through its VBHC Academy, Swansea University is unique in offering MSc and PGDip level programmes with a specific pathway in the principles and application of Value-Based Health and Care for health, social care and the life-science sectors •The course is designed to challenge and stimulate, allowing knowledge to be assimilated and applied in context as well as to learn from peers, guest speakers and hosts of the module blocks •Modules are taught by a world-class faculty with extensive experience of working within the health, social care and life sciences sectors as well as academia •Latest findings from research are used to ensure a robust understanding of the successful adoption of VBHC •Attain a global perspective in the development and implementation of Value-Based Health and Care •Learn more about prudent and complex systems and how to enhance health and care •Provide an opportunity for health, care and life-science professionals to undertake a critical evaluation of underlying theory, practice and research in health and social care •Become a critically reflective leader, practitioner, manager or researcher who can function at an advanced level of practice and provide leadership in the planning, development and critical evaluation of VBHC in integrated health and social care systems.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS AND APPLICATION PROCESS Students must hold a 2:1 (or overseas equivalent) in an undergraduate degree. Any degree subject will be considered. We would also be willing to consider those with other backgrounds and work experience in the sector in place of the degree entry requirement.

Students must also have a minimum of one-year relevant work experience.

Applications must be made via the University’s central application system .

ILA SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE

MSc or PGDip? The Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) is the same level of study as the Master’s (MSc) but you will not be required to complete the introductory modules. A workplace project and report is still required. You can gain your PGDip qualification within 10 months and MSc within 13 months.
