Une victoire pour les Nats contre les 73s de Kemptville Dimanche dernier, soit le 21 octobre, les Nats faisaient face au 73s de Kemtpville, au Centre municipal de North Grenville. Rockland a amorcé le pointage, lorsque Simon Houle a enfilé la rondelle derrière le gardien des 73s, Jarret Fiske. En deuxième, les Nats ont marqué à deux reprises, tandis que les 73s ont finalement réussi à loger le disque dans le filet. Came- ron Last et Matthew Vermaetten ont tous deux compté pour Rockland, tandis que Cameron MacLean a déjoué le gardien des Nats, Joseph Giacobbo. Le capitaine des 73s, Ashton Fry, a mar- qué en troisième période. Mais Benjamin Pruneau a cimenté la victoire pour son équipe en comptant à son tour. Les Nats ont donc remporté la partie par le pointage de 4-2. L’équipe de Rockland possède donc une fiche respectable de 10-7-1-1. Registration is open again for the Annual First Hunt program for young hunters. The South Nation Conservation Autho- rity (SNC) and Delta Waterfowl partner again for the 11th Annual First Hunt Program to provide young hunters, ages 12 to 15, with an opportunity for safe instruction and development of their sus- tainable hunting skills under the guidance of experienced mentors. “We’re training the conservationists of tomorrow to respect personal safety, wildlife, habitat, and private property,” stated Philip Duncan, SNC property and approvals assistant and one of the pro- gram mentors. Participants in the program will spend three weeks of classroom-style training in the Canadian Firearms Safety Course, the Ontario Hunter Education Course, and presentations from local trappers, hun- ters, and conservation officers. Following successful completion of their classroom instruction, the young hunters will take part in their first supervised hunting trip. Program registration is free and all costs, including meals, training, and manuals, are covered by program orga- nizers. Les Nationals de Rockland ont perdu deux de leurs trois dernières rencontres, manquant ainsi la chance d’ajouter quatre points à leur fiche. Le 17 octobre, les Nats affrontaient les Senators Jr d’Ottawa, au Complexe sportif Jim Durrell. Les deux équipes n’ont pas réussi à marquer en première période. C’est en deuxième période que l’offensive des Senators a abasourdi les Nats. En effet, Connor Smart, Ethan Manderville et Darcy Walsh ont tous trois marqué. Lors de la dernière période, Jack Sulli- van a inscrit le seul but de Rockland. Mais quatre minutes à peine après celui-ci, Andrew Remer a vite fait de redonner une avance de trois buts à son équipe. Les Nats ont donc perdu la partie par le pointage de 4-1. Rockland tabassé par les Raiders de Nepean Le 19 octobre s’est avéré difficile pour les Nats, alors que ceux-ci rencontraient les Raiders de Nepean, cette fois à l’aréna de Rockland. Les joueurs de Rockland ont bombardé les Raiders en première période, avec des buts de Cameron Scrivens et Alex Robert. Goals for the Cougars included two from Tyler Dopelhamer, with singles from Jonathan Leblanc and Keean McEachern. Assists came Nicolas Castonguay, Vincent Huneault, and Trystan Lavoie, with Sébastien Moreau in the net. Clarence Creek beat the Metcalfe Jets on home ice 5-3 Sunday afternoon, with Payant scoring a pair of goals and Baker, Clifford, and Lemay each firing in singles. Goal assists came from Baker, Lemay, Gaudet, and Melée. Corey Camirand guarded the net. Michael Armstrong scored a hat trick for Metcalfe with assists from Alexandre Cloutier and Noah Johnston. Christian Backmann was in goal. Clarence Creek has one game left in the October schedule with an afternoon rematch October 28, at home, against Vankleek Hill. St. Isidore Eagles It was a good weekend for the St. Isidore Eagles with a pair of wins added to their season record in the National Capital Junior Hockey League. St. Isidore crowned the Bytown Royals 8-2 in a road game, October 19, then plucked victory away from the

Vankleek Hill Cougars 5-2 at home. Jacob Brunette scored a hat trick for St. Isidore along with assisting on two other goals. Kevin Howson punched in two points for the Eagles and also helped out on the rest of the scoring. Rounding off the St. Isidore score were Jeremy Arbour, Philippe Burden, and Ryan Wells with a goal each. Burden also scored St. Isidore’s game-winning goal. Also assis- ting on the goal-scoring were Wells, Kalvin Cormier, Miguel Crispin, Tyler Druce, Ryan Kennedy, and Bruno Leclerc, with Lucas De Vries guarding the net. Bytown goals came from William Lacha- pelle and Mathieu Laurin, with assists from Josh Barnes, Francis Dall, and Nathan
Gonyou. Tye Agardy and Danik Gervais shared goalie duty. St. Isidore flew off with the win 5-2 Sunday night at home, against the Vankleek Hill Cougars, with two goals from Brunette and singles from Kormier, Druce, and Howson. Assisting on the goals were Howson, Bru- nette, and Zackary Bougie, with Lucas De Vries minding the goal. Nikolas Ayotte and Charles-Olivier Porte- lance scored for the Cougars with assists from Tyler Dopelhamer, Vincent Huneault, and Justin Labrosse. Frederick Durocher was in goal. The Eagles have one game left in their October schedule, hosting the Gatineau Hull- Volant Sunday night, October 28, at home.
