At the 32nd annual Beautiful Bakersfield Awards, Angel Cottrell receives the award in the Education category for her work with the Entrepreneurship Resource Centers.

The 2022-2023 academic year began.
ERC hosted the first annual KHSD Youth Entrepreneurship Education Summit with more than 500 students and 100 business partners in attendance. Launched three ERC programs for Fall 2022: Exploring Entrepreneurial Mindsets (EEM) & Entrepreneurial Essentials & Endeavors (EEE), and Advanced: Pivot or Proceed. 10 local high school VE Business Plan teams attended Kern County’s Western Regional Rounds Business Plan competition at CTEC. 6 local VE teams qualified for the VE state competition in January 2023. CTEC hosted a VE Mini Trade Show and business advising sessions with 10 KHSD VE teams.
29 students completed EEM.
10 students completed EEE by pitching their business idea at Pitch Night. ERC hosted over 40 student businesses for the first “Shop Small for Fall” pop-up event.
