Certified Peer Specialists on Integrated Teams (Core Competencies: 1.11; 2.5; 2.9; 3.1; 3.2; 3.3; 4.13; 4.19) Working collaboratively on teams is a core competency for Wisconsin certified peer specialists. The skills and experience that comes with the processes of connecting, exploring, supporting, planning, as well as advocating uniquely position certified peer specialists as collaborative professional partners across disciplines. Many certified peer specialists will find themselves working alongside those in other roles in the mental health and substance use services system, including but not limited to case managers, therapists, doctors, mental health technicians, nurses, and more. Each of these professional roles comes with a unique set of ethical considerations as well as skills, training, and experience.
