The strengths-based recovery approach is oriented around building on the peer’s existing strengths to work towards the goals they would like to achieve in their lives. The person-centered, strengths-based, and recovery-oriented care approach is relatively new to human service systems. It may be a new experience for people to have their voices heard, their strengths seen, and their personal decisions supported.
