After giving a lesson on The Seven Judgments, a young married woman left the class, but as she reached the door she turned suddenly back into the room, sat down and buried her face in her hands. On being asked what was the matter she burst into tears and said, “I’m lost, I am not a Christian.” “Don’t you want to be?” “Oh, yes, but I don’t know how.” Seeking a quiet corner for prayer the Bible Woman had the privilege of pointing the girl to the Saviour. She joyfully accepted Him, and before those who were waiting behind, confessed, saying, “I have found the Saviour.” Afterwards she said that the lesson had brought her face to face with the issue. She saw that she could not escape the great white throne judgment, unless she went to the Cross and accepted, in Christ Jesus, release from the judgment of sin. Again life came through the teaching of the Word. The Story of a Dost Parcel On the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, at the close of a busy afternoon’s work, I suddenly remembered I had guests coming for a “home” supper and had not provided for their wants. Hurried shopping had to be done, and a small but valuable littte parcel in my hand was forgotten. This did not come ’to my remembrance until Wednesday evening. Thursday evening being Thanksgiving, stores were all closed, but I was enabled to cast my burden on the Lord and ask Him to work for me. On Friday morning I re traced my calls of the previous Tuesday but no one had seen the lost parcel. In the late afternoon on my way home from a class, I hesitated before a baker’s store in a strange way, being almost sure our bread supply was ample, but finally thought, “Well, I’ll get a small loaf anyway.” The clerk immediately asked me if I had left a parcel there on Tuesday. I answered “Yes, that parcel has had many prayers sent up for its return, which you see God has faith fully answered.” On Saturday morning I visited the stores where I had told of my loss. I had some grand opportuni ties of telling how God hears and answers prayers. One man, to whom I had given a Gospel lately, said he had read it through and enjoyed it so I asked him if he would not accept Christ as his Saviour and he said he would. Others accepted Gospels and promised to read them through, and heard a definite message—so good came out of seeming ill. Praise the Lord! The Eteri Clubs “I commend you to the Word of His grace which is able to build you up.” (Acts 20:32.) It has been the time to celebrate the anniversary of sev eral of the Eteri Clubs lately, and we have been rejoicing in the establishing of lives in Christ. Almost unconsciously, lives have been growing up in Him. We look back a year and see lives, careless and indifferent, today transformed into earnest personal workers and witnesses for the Lord, and as we look into the faces radiating the Lord Jesus, our hearts breathe a prayer of thanksgiving to Him Who “giveth the increase.” Two school teachers in one community brought a money gift to the leaders of the Club, saying, “We want to have a part in helping this club for we can see what a difference it is making in the girls’ lives. They are different in the school-room. We know of nothing else that has been so instrumental in developing character.” No doubt one reason for the rapid growth of a girl in her Christian life, is the fact that the average earnest Christian girl takes seriously the leading of the Spirit as He shows her through the mirror, the Word, her shortcom ings, and the things that would not please her Lord. One girl fought out a battle for a week before gaining the vic

tory, and had a real time of rejoicing when it was gained. Was it a great life decision? No, merely giving up rouge,— not such a small thing after all for the girls who imagines she looks “perfectly horrid” without it. The important thing is this, however—because she faced her battle and gained the victory in the little thing, she will be able to face the bigger thing when it comes, and be victorious. Another girl asked for prayer that she might have vic tory over timidity in testifying for her Lord. She said, “I practiced my testimony for half an hour before the look ing-glass today, and then when time came to give it, I was so frightened I couldn’t get to my feet.” While smiling with her over her unusual practice hour, we thanked God for the real love for Him in hearts that would prompt them to do the hard thing for Himp-the thing which another might easily turn aside from, not willing to pay the price to “walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing.” m M SPANISH WORK R obert H . Bender, Supt.— Gospel M eetings an d H ouse to H ouse W ork am ong 50,000 M exicans in Los A ngeles and V icinity. “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.’.’ Of all people that are blind there are none so blind as those of the Roman religion, and Satan or the god of this world, has them doubly blinded because of a profession of a religion. The Romanist is taught that by virtue of being baptized and confirmed in the Church they are Christians and they would consider it an insult if .you were to doubt that they were, hence their blindness to the truth of God’s own Word and His way of salvation. One of our converts recently related to us how he was insulted when we told him that an image, or “saint” as they call them, had no power whatsoever. Nevertheless he confessed that it set him thinking and after hear ing the Word several times, one day told his wife, “Well, I believe it is true that the saints have no power,” and after he saw the light and accepted Christ as his Saviour, all the pictures and images of saints were removed and destroyed. Praise God, that this has been the case of many of the converts. Just recently one of our women students has been visit ing and holding classes with eight or ten women, and the priest having learned of these classes has been busy visit ing these homes and commanding the women to attend mass, so on a recent Sunday the student, on arriving at one of the homes (the woman having already professed to have accepted Christ) handed the student a small picture of a saint which had been given out by the priest at mass. The student then saw her opportunity to explain that, as Christians, we were to worship God in Spirit. Of course this woman was receptive and confessed that the saints had no power whatever, so we are praying and trusting God will give her courage to take them down from the walls of her house. As she has many of them, she told the student that she formerly prayed five times a day be fore each saint. Dear reader, don’t you see how we have the pagan wor shipper in our midst, just as’ blind as any Chinese or African heathen? Then, we find these Mexicans are so jealous for their religion, yet if we can get them to listen to the Word of God it seems more than half the battle is won. For ex-
