MISSION/PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The City Manager is appointed by and reports to the City Council, and advises the City Council on present conditions and future City requirements. The City Manager is ultimately responsible for all services provided by the City. The City Manager’s Office creates and presents the City budget, administers policies established by the City Council, appoints City employees, appoints members of the Civil Service Commission, and has administrative oversight of all City departments, programs, and projects.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
* Oversee the implementation of all Council objectives listed in the Council Business Plan for all departments and provide semi- annual reports to the City Council. * Promote fiscal responsibility by creating and presenting for Council approval the City budget. * Ensure the prosperity of the City by administering the Risk Management Program. * Promote professional growth amongst Management Team staff. * Maintain the "open government" philosophy by publishing and distributing the City Lights Newsletter. * Maintain the "open government" philosophy by filming and broadcasting public meetings. * Maintain the "open government" philosophy by posting timely City information to social media sites.
